A personal reflection on three decades of digital change — and a look at where I might be headed next.

When I first clicked “buy” on AOL to buy 'online' a ticket back in 1994, I had no idea that tiny moment would shape the rest of my journey.

From experimenting with my first website in the late ’90s, to co-founding IdeaWeb.IT to streaming live events long before it became mainstream and recently launching AI-WORKFLOWS.DEV — each step was driven by curiosity and a belief that the Internet could open new worlds.

Here’s a glimpse into the milestones that shaped my path — and a question I keep asking myself: if the past 30 years have brought me here, where will we be in 2035?

📜 Here is my 'professional' timeline

1991The World Wide Web is born. A revolution that would soon reshape communication, information, and business worldwide. What started as an academic project at CERN quickly evolved into the backbone of today’s digital society.

1994My first real encounter with the power of the Web. I purchased an online ticket for the friendly football match Italy vs. Costa Rica, played as preparation for the USA 1994 World Cup. It was a groundbreaking moment: the simple act of buying a ticket online revealed how the Internet could completely change everyday life. That event also bring me to the attention of media, 10.000.000 people saw on TV and newspapers my banner 'ITALIA - ALGHERO SUPPORTERS - CIAO MAMMA' (I'm the one on the right side, without t-shirt! 🎥 https://youtu.be/RfFc2QCM2_E?t=6495

1995 – Bill Gates attempts to explain “the Internet” to the world. Despite his authority, most people reacted with skepticism and confusion. For many, the idea of a global network felt abstract, unnecessary, or even absurd. It’s striking to remember just how misunderstood the future was at the time.

1998 – I publish my very first website. It included the Official Website of GRC Alghero and my personal blog (still available in the Web Archive). Back then, building and publishing a website required not only technical skill but also a pioneering mindset, as very few people in Italy were exploring the medium.

1999 – With my friend Andrea Bertuzzi , we co-founded IdeaWeb.IT. one of the first Web Agency, Hosting Provider, and Training Center. This marked the beginning of a professional journey deeply rooted in the Internet’s growth and its adoption in Sardinia and beyond.

1999 – In the same year, Tiscali launched the first free Internet access service in Italy and Western Europe. This innovation dramatically accelerated Internet adoption in households and businesses, breaking down barriers and democratizing online access.

2000–2007 – In partnership with Tiscali, Andrea Bertuzzi and I made history by producing some of the first live streaming broadcasts in Italy. At a time when bandwidth was limited and technology experimental, we managed to bring events online, foreshadowing the explosion of digital broadcasting platforms that define today’s media landscape.

2007–2025 – My professional journey continues. You can explore my career path on [LinkedIn]. It includes roles, projects, and collaborations that further consolidated my expertise in web technologies, digital transformation, and innovation.

2025 and beyond – I launched of AI-WORKFLOWS.DEV, a new chapter, dedicated to building intelligent workflows powered by Artificial Intelligence. The focus: AI Agentic Workflows Workflow Automations and AI Voice Assistants for small-medium businesses.

Currently - I’ve embarked on a new journey as an 𝗔𝗜 𝗜𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗘𝗻𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗲𝗲𝗿 at Groupon with the goal to accelerate the adoption of 𝗔𝗜 𝗮𝘂𝘁𝗼𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 and Agentic Flows within the supply sales cycle.

2035 – Where will I be? The future remains open. If the past is any indication, it will certainly involve pushing the boundaries of technology, creativity, and human potential.

Today, as we enter the age of AI, I feel that same spark of possibility. What once felt like science fiction is now becoming our everyday reality.

I’d love to hear from you:

  • What was your very first memory of the Internet?
  • And where do you imagine we’ll be in 2035?
Let’s share stories and visions — because the future is built on the ideas we dare to imagine today
